同社のフラッグシップとなる本機はDave Smith がこれまで温存してきた全てのアイデアと最新技術を投入した12ボイスのポリシンセで、各ボイスに4基のオシレーターとサブオシレーター、Low & Hi Passフィルター、キャラクター（DriveやHackなど5種類のエフェクト）、フィードバック、各ボイスに4基のタップディレイを搭載など贅沢な仕様。

2013年1月24日、カリフォルニア州アナハイム - Dave Smith Instrumentsは2013NAMMショーで新しいポリフォニック・シンセサイザー「Prophet12」を発表しました。

」 Prophet12はデイブ・スミスにより設計され最大同時発音数12音を誇る、アナログ・ポリフォニック・シンセサイザーです。

各ボイスにはクラシックで複雑な波形を生み出すオシレーター、サブオシレーター、レゾナント・アナログ・ローパス&ハイパスフィルター、そしてアナログVCAを搭載しています。

新しい「キャラクター」セクションではDrive, Hack, Decimation, Girth, そして Airという5つのパラメーターが並んでおり、バラエティーに富んだウェーブシェイピング、スカルプティングを追加します。

その他の機能としてチューニングされたフィードバック回路、ボイスごとに4タップ・ステレオディレイ、拡張されたアルペジエーター、多彩なモジュレーション機能、バイティンバー機能を搭載。

全てのLFO、ディレイ、アルペジエーターはインターナル・クロックまたは外部MIDIクロックで同期することが可能です。
